Folks,
I believe in the book Crashing the Gates Kos mentions that he is working on a grass roots effort to organize churches, and members thereof, across the country. I am interested in joining this effort and recruiting other churchgoers to be point people in their respective houses of worship. Does anyone know the status of this?
This weekend the priest in my Catholic Church in Vermont requested that we all pray that "candidates who are pro-life be elected on Tuesday", which in Vermont mean Republicans. It pissed me off.
I'd really like to join an organized effort to turn back the incredible GOTV machine the GOP has via churches. More on the flip.
I've been calling into Indiana all weekend on Move On's app, and while it is a step forward, calling someone you don't know on the phone is nowhere near as powerful as having your priest/pastor or other members of your congregation say, "Hey, are you voting for xyz on Tuesday. Hope to see you at the polls."
